Back Paddock Company P/L
IoT, Cloud computing, Intelligent apps, Big Data. AI, Blockchain, GIS
A successful SAAS (software as a service) business over 25 years, Back Paddock pioneered digital solutions to recover depleted soil health in a whole farm management platform. Our IP in agronomy and farm management is recognised as a leader in Australian farm adviser networks for its’ significant industry-wide benefit. We pioneered farm planning and developed decision support systems that provide the foundation for interpreting nutrient needs from some 70% of Australia’s soil samples.
This successful IP has been forged on the ‘world’s driest continent with most-weathered soils’ and it excels in a global context.
The platform currently services some 16,000 farms across 21million hectares of arable zone farming.
Building on this IP in our new generation Opterra platform, we will provide a digital ecosystem to integrate the fundamental elements of agricultural production, soil-water-plant-animal in a simplified 4 step process founded on sound science and farm management economics.
This holistic approach enables farmers working with their crop and livestock advisers to simplify the management required for improved profitability and natural resource accountability in order to achieve sustainability.
Our clients strongly support the need for the unique tool we are building for their business.
It will be completely scalable globally.

Growth Agriculture
Growth Agriculture began 30 years ago with a mission that had environmental consciousness at its core. Since then, many other companies have joined us on the path towards sustainable and now regenerative farming.
We manufacture Agtech products in regional Queensland in Goondiwindi, with our site now a net exporter of electricity. One product, B&B Superfine, turns abattoir waste material into grower friendly liquid blood and bone. This innovative liquid fertiliser and biostimulant harnesses natures technology and is being used in synthetic nitrogen reduction strategies.
Our other world first product is Sero-X Organic Pesticide, which uses the power of peptides and is formulated from the plant Clitoria ternatea Butterfly Pea. It is non-toxic to humans, bees and predatory insects with multiple modes of action on plant eating pests including direct mortality, and repellence as well as anti-fungal properties. It’s the only Australian product to have been taken from discovery of active all the way through to registration with the APVMA. At it’s heart is cutting edge peptide and protein research that we are continuing to develop with our partners at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience at the University of Queensland and the ARC Centre of Excellence for Innovations in Peptide and Protein Science (CIPPS) where we are working to unleash the power of peptides and proteins for the benefit of humankind.

SwarmFarm
SwarmFarm is an Australian company leading the development of agricultural robots for crop production.
We’re developing a new operating system for agriculture. Our machines are empowering farmers with new technology, so they can deploy new farming methods and field practices to revolutionise food production. Our robots are transforming farming systems from the ground up, with a delivery platform to introduce new farming methods and techniques that are only possible onboard a robot.
We’re one of the few companies worldwide with real robots, already working on farms. SwarmFarm robots are not simply a driverless tractor that automates existing field operations. We believe that robots are the obvious progression after the tractor.
They are lightweight, efficient and autonomous machines loaded with technology that allows new methods of farming that is simply not possible on the back of a tractor. Capable of operating at optimal speed and whenever the conditions are suitable for the specific operation, SwarmBots can work on their own or co-operatively as a ‘swarm’ of units across the landscape.
