Wrappt

Quality video editing platform

Tech

As the brainchild of Brisbane-based video agency Ride Free Media and digital agency Vivo Group, Wrappt came to life when co-founders Ryan Miller, Nicholas James, David Steel and Chris Osborne realised that despite the medium’s growing power and necessity, quality and cost-effective video was still out of reach for many businesses.

Wrappt is a platform that enables businesses to produce and manage professional quality video, at scale.

“Videography is expensive to outsource, impractical to bring in-house, and most DIY attempts struggle to meet the high standards that management wants and the audience expects,” Creative Director Steel says.

Wrappt has tackled this with an integrated, end-to-end solution.

“The guided app - which takes the difficulty out of mastering your phone’s video capabilities - gives you access to a team of experienced producers and editors, and the Wrappt Kit provides high-end stability, sound, and lighting with low-cost and lightweight film gear.

“Leveraging a network of clients across both businesses, we were able to test and iterate until we had arrived at a solution that alleviated the problems these businesses were suffering.”

With video marketing moving from useful to essential, and demand for frequency and quality on the rise, businesses are faced with a major challenge - increase the quantity and frequency of video content without blowing the budget.

Using the Wrappt Platform (App, Kit and Cloud), businesses are able to affordably create and manage compelling video content with resources they now have on hand.

The whole venture - from conceptualisation through to the creation of the MVP - has been self-funded by the founding businesses.

However, mid 2018 the Wrappt team were the recipients of a grant from the Queensland Government’s Advance Queensland Ignite Ideas Fund, enabling them to rapidly move from an MVP to a commercially marketable product.

Following a hugely successful launch in June 2019, they are now preparing to rapidly scale up their offering internationally.

The Wrappt team is also building on what was originally conceived as a B2B product.

“We’re evolving the tech to deliver a B2C version for end consumers in the wedding, event and travel spaces,” Steel says.

Joining the likes Uber, Airbnb, Lime and Dollar Shave Club, Wrappt has also been invited to join the Amazon AWS Activate for Startups program.
