From 10 to 16 June, 2019, Queensland Chief Entrepreneur, Leanne Kemp, led the Startup Catalyst Female Founders mission to London Tech Week. Advance Queensland partially funded eight of the Female Founders on the mission; they represented a diverse range of startup fields from Queensland.
Over a busy week, the Female Founders had the chance to meet with global companies and investors, attend London Tech Week events and receive mentoring from Leanne Kemp, particularly around building resilience as a founder and capital raising.
Indi Tansey from Brisbane startup Codebots attended and said it was great to have the opportunity to connect with a group of likeminded entrepreneurs. She said that “having Leanne Kemp as part of our group meant that we received special and rare insights into what it truly means to set up and run a global business”.
Katrina Donaghy from Civic Ledger said the most valuable part of the mission was “the opportunity to distance herself from her startup and objectively learn more about what it takes to set up a company and with this new knowledge I have been able to critically assess our export readiness and start putting in place the necessary changes to better position my company.”
